Heritage Tours at Stradey Castle, Llanelli
Heritage Tours allow you to visit Stradey Castle and learn all about its fascinating history. Stradey, which has been in the Mansel Lewis family for five generations, is one of the finest Mid-Victorian houses in South Wales.
Heritage Tours will nearly always be conducted by the present owner – Patrick Mansel Lewis – and must be pre-booked (booking form below). During 2017, tours will be held on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of the Month between April and September. They will start at 2.30pm and last about one hour, followed by light refreshments in the dining room.
It is also possible to explore the large collection of trees and shrubs in the Woodland Garden, many of which favour the acid soil and mild climate to be found at Stradey. If you are particularly interested in visiting the garden, please let us know when you book.
Adults £10, Concessions £8, Students and school age Children £5. Admission price includes light refreshments. Cash payment should be made when you arrive for your tour.
Group and school tours are also welcome by prior arrangement, please contact us to discuss your requirements further
A wheelchair ramp is available for access to the ground floor of the house. At the moment, we don't have a designated disabled toilet. The Terrace Garden is mostly accessible to wheelchairs on gravel paths, while the Wilderness Garden has level paths around and through it.
